Ways To Incorporate Salsa Into Meals

Known for its tart, savory flavors, Mexican salsa typically consists of fresh, chopped tomatoes, onions, lime juice, garlic, and cilantro to taste. It may also contain jalapeno peppers, depending on its spiciness level. Although it's most often paired with chips as an appetizer, you can use salsa in a variety of other ways.  Whether you're cooking breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you can find a way to incorporate salsa into it. Some traditional Mexican dishes, such as huevos rancheros, call for a topping of fresh salsa, but you can work it into other not-so-typical recipes as well for a burst of unexpected flavor.
